Really enjoyed an overnight stay with our two dogs. The hotel is a green ‘oasis’ and has a warm & welcoming feel. The hotel provided beds for our two dogs and a bowl of treats which was a lovely touch. We could enjoy our meals in the library bar with our dogs and the food was excellent - both the evening bar meal and breakfast. The grounds are beautiful and worth exploring. The history of the hotel is also very interesting to research. The hotel is not close to public transport so this needs to be borne in mind. Also, because the hotel is a listed building, there are some limitations with accessibility - worth checking before travel. Would highly recommend.

We can really fault nothing except to say the rooms are a bit tired. Very comfortable and well equipped though so definitely can't mark it down too much! Breakfast was plentiful with an excellent array of choices and the staff were exemplary. Would definitely stay again.

Was there on Saturday for an afternoon tea which was advertised as £36. My friend paid the £10 deposit that was required at the time of the booking which left £26 to pay on the day which wasn’t the case we then get told we have to pay a additional service charge so all in all we ended up paying around £40 for some dry cakes, not even a full sandwich and 3 pots of tea between 10 of us and a scone each, baring in mind it was meant to be unlimited. overall I wasn’t impressed and won’t be returning.

We had a lovely afternoon with family, 10 people in total. The staff were excellent, very polite and friendly, and accommodating! I found the sandwich menu a bit to fussy, traditional sandwiches with afternoon tea is always preferred but perhaps just our preference.

I love this building. I love the old, black and white architecture. It's a 19th century old fashioned house, which has a tranquil, peaceful garden with seating around house garden grounds. When on entering the house, I was surprisingly taken back by the small, wooden rounded door, it was like a Alice in Wonderland????♥️♠️♦️♣️♟ scene..ENTERING A DIFFERENT WORLD.. A WORLD OF MAGIC..A beautiful setting for A WEDDING.???????? The inside is gorgeous, big wooden staircase that takes you up to the function room. I'd describe the decor as an Alice in wonderland house.. beautifully stunning magically designed and decorated.
